Mid-Roll Round Balers

The mid-roll baler is a great solution for those who want to reduce manual labor but don’t want to own an 85 horsepower, 8000 pound tractor to do it.

For smaller compact tractors or tractors without auxiliary hydraulics, the Star TRB910 mid-roll baler makes a bale measuring 33 inches by 35 inches, and weighing between 200 and 400 pounds, depending on what is being baled and the bale density setting. For slightly larger tractors with hydraulics, the Abbriata M100 is a mid-roll baler that produces round bales 39" in diameter by 39" wide, weighing between 300 and 500 pounds, depending on the density setting and the material being baled.

Round bales are weather resistant, so they're a great choice for when rain is approaching. Maximize your production and stop worrying about whether your hay help is going to show up. Leave the bales in the field and pick them up with your compact tractor when you have time. Bales can be handled with the front loader of your compact tractor. Once in the barn, they can be manually rolled to where they are needed.

Built heavy-duty, it will stand up to harsh conditions and large-scale production. A 40+ horsepower tractor weighing 3500+ pounds is recommended. For more information see the brochure below.

Antonio Carraro TTR4400 Tractor and Mid-roll Round Baler On Hillside

This video shows the slope stability of the Star 900 series mid-roll baler combined with an Antonio Carraro tractor. This is a steep hillside, about a 20 percent grade. Baling on a hill like this would not be possible with a conventional tractor and round baler setup, but with this combination it’s a breeze. Note: operator is utilizing his seatbelt at all times. Baling across a hillside prevents the bales from rolling down the hill and keeps you from having to pull sideways out of the windrow every time you have to eject a bale.

Closeup of Star TRB910 Mid-roll Hay Baler Tying a Bale

Here is a closeup of the tying mechanism of the Star 900 series mid-roll baler. Tying is fully automatic. When the chamber is full, a horn sounds. Stop the tractor as tying begins. When tying is completed, the twine is automatically cut. The operator then simply presses a button on the control module and the bale is ejected. Two balls of twine speed wrapping time.

This video shows the amazing maneuverability of the Star 900 series mid-roll baler. The hitch of this tractor integrates a PTO shaft joint allowing it to bend nearly 90 degrees without any binding or danger of damage to the machine or your tractor.
